We’re keeping up with the landscaping, sprucing up the campus and fixing this and that. The campus is in full bloom and we’re heading into another successful school year this fall.

We have plenty to do and Ridgewood needs your help in so many ways. Perhaps you don’t have time to lend a hand, but your financial support is vital to keeping your school in top form and a great way to show your Golden Eagle spirit!

What’s going on right now is we’re trying to raise the funds to replace the air conditioners in Students’ Hall. Remember what is was like when Ridgewood got air! (Especially the Eagles of the 1972 school year.) It will cost $70,000 to replace the two units upstairs – so, please help!

Come visit Ridgewood – you’ll be pleased the school is still strong and how your support is helping Ridgewood shine better than ever! You are building a wonderful legacy for yourself, your class, your school, and future Golden Eagles.

Thanks to all who participated in the Alumni Football Game. It is especially heartwarming to know so many of you helped your school with your efforts and donations. It was great to see all of you enjoy yourselves and spend time at Ridgewood again.

Alumni Football Game – Blue defeats Gold (White) team 19 – 0

Ridgewood’s Golden Eagles played football December 19, 2009. The players, families, and friends had a great time. The Blue team was victorious over the Gold (White) team 19 to 0. Pizza and refreshments followed at Ridgewood. The proceeds benefitted the David R. Hurst, ’94 Memorial Fund.

Holtzendorff ‘87, PhD and U.S. Army

Matthew Holtzendorff, graduate of the class of 1987, earned his PhD in History from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. Matt is also serving as a Major in the U.S. Army stationed in North Carolina having served two tours in Iraq.

Mika Hino ‘07 earns highest GPA

Mika Hino, graduate of the class of 2007, earned the highest GPA in her department at Meeiji University in Tokyo, Japan. She was awarded a scholarship in return for her accomplishment. She sends regards to Ridgewood and the Golden Eagles — Congratulations Mika!

Sharon Brennan Reiffel Cancer Fund

Ridgewood honors David R. Hurst ’94

Ridgewood has established a memorial award in honor of David Hurst, Class of 1994. David served in the United States Army and was killed in action in Iraq on June 7th, 2008. We are developing a tribute to David which will appear on this site in the coming days.

On behalf of the students, faculty, alumni, and supporters of Ridgewood Preparatory School, we wish to extend our thanks to all RPS Friends and family who helped with our annual fundraiser The “WOOD” Classic Golf Tournament. Through your donations and those of others, our event was a great success. The event netted approximately $8,000.00 for the school, which will be used for many of Ridgewood’s programs that benefit all of our Golden Eagles.
